We adopted Gemma (now Emma) on August 14, 2013. She had just turned 2 years old, having been born in June 2011. As soon as we opened the door to her room at C.A.R.E., she wrapped herself around us with love, and begged us to pick her up. I adopted her for my daughter, Katelyn’s, 8th birthday. Katelyn is now a college student who comes home every weekend to spend time with her family, Emma included. Both are still happy and healthy! She is loved by the whole family.
