As the line in the movie goes "you had me at hello". I am a volunteer at the
shelter and see many dogs come and go and try not to get too attached, but when
I saw Shilah I fell instantly in love with her. Shilah was found in a field with
her 8 puppies. Those big ears, soft eyes, along with her laid back personality
were too much to resist.
Shilah now has a brother ( a 3-yr-old shepherd mix) who adores her, and a sister
(a 15-yr old Lhasa mix who was also adopted from CARE).
She was nervous about being in the house for the first few days, but adjusted to
her new air-conditioned house and couch very quickly. She had a hard time
getting used to walking on the wood floors so I put down throw rugs to help her.
She learned to use the doggie door in one day with her brother's help. She has a
big fenced back yard and screened in lanai to play and lounge in.
Shilah has been a wonderful addition to our family. The day that CARE took her
in was the beginning of a new wonderful life for her and she is very grateful.
Thank you CARE!
