Legacy Circle

C.A.R.E. established the Legacy Circle to honor those individuals who provide for continuing care of our canine and feline family members by providing for C.A.R.E. in their estate planning documents. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit, and your attorney and tax advisors can provide information on how such a contribution can help not only us, but you and your heirs as well.

Your support enables C.A.R.E. to continue its mission to reduce the number of homeless and abandoned animals through adoption, sterilization and education. This past year, volunteers provided well over 14,000 hours of service to make sure our doors remain open. At today’s minimum wage, that equates to services worth in excess of $110,000.00, but it doesn’t come close to meeting all of our needs. There are a number of ways estate planning methods can be used to help.

Estate Planning Methods that can Help
    • Naming C.A.R.E. as a specific beneficiary in a trust or estate
    • Naming C.A.R.E. as a contingent beneficiary in the event an original beneficiary does not survive
    • Naming C.A.R.E. as a beneficiary in your retirement plan, 401k, or IRA
    • Naming C.A.R.E. as a beneficiary in a life insurance contract
    • Naming C.A.R.E. in a charitable trust or as beneficiary of a charitable remainder annuity

If you are currently working with your attorney on a revision to your estate plan, please keep us in mind. If you haven’t seen it, please ask us for a copy of our brochure “Just In Case”. We would also be happy to speak with you or your attorney to provide additional information in this area.
